We are in the month of June and as most of you know, with June comes weddings. Have you ever wondered why that is? Is it because it’s the beginning of summer? Is it because northern climates are finally seeing the sun and people want to be outside more, flowers are blooming, everything looks hopeful? Well, maybe… but June is also named for the Roman goddess Juno, who is the protector of women, particularly when it comes to marriage, fertility, and child bearing.

It was said that marrying during Juno’s month would bring luck and protection in marriage and that marriage would last forever.

In honor of Juno, let’s look at some wedding movies you might want to revisit!

The Wedding Singer - Rotten Tomatoes

The Wedding Singer:

Who can resist Drew Barrymore and Adam Sandler in this one?

Wedding Crashers (2005) - IMDb

Wedding Crashers:

Maybe not your typical loving wedding flick, but fun nonetheless! Everyone can find some laughs in this one with Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson.

Bridesmaids (2011) - IMDb

Bridesmaids:

My ex-mother-in-law loved this one… and she returned American Pie to Blockbuster with a note in it saying how inappropriate it was to rent to an older woman like her.

My Best Friend's Wedding (1997) - IMDb

My Best Friend’s Wedding:

I think this movie single-handedly reinvigorated a whole slew of teenage girls making marriage pacts with their crushes.

Palm Springs (2020) - IMDb

Palm Springs:

This is a fun Groundhog Day-esque movie that came out when most people were in quarantine, so you may have missed it. Luckily enough, you can find it on Hulu!

Crazy Rich Asians (2018) - IMDb

Crazy Rich Asians:

This movie has a great cast that makes it truly enjoyable.

Did I miss your favorite wedding flick? What would you add to the list?
